I began painting in 2001 alongside my artistic mother who was in her final months battling pancreatic cancer. It was over a year before I picked up a brush following her death. At this time I had an outside-of-time moment while at a book café in Carmel, CA. A book there struck something in my heart. I called the well known artist/gardener, Elizabeth Murray, and met with her. Elizabeth became client, friend and eventually my mentor. My mother awakened the artist in me; Elizabeth nurtured me in my art.
With a degree in graphic design from California College of Arts and currently an interior designer, I fully appreciate the arts. I combine my 16 years of ongoing study in Feng Shui with His Holiness, Grandmaster Lin Yun, to help clients achieve a healthier and more successful environment.
As fate would have it, an opening was offered in a watercolor workshop to Provence, France with well known watercolorist, Marie Gabrielle, from Santa Cruz, CA. Upon returning home from this workshop I realized it was with a joyous craving that it was time to apply myself to this learning process. I have enjoyed my studies with Bonni Carver, Linda Wells, Claire Verbiest, and Bill Fravel. I work in both pastel and watercolor mediums. One is dreamy and softer, the latter more from my illustrator background. Painting is now a lifelong passion of personal growth as I develop my romantic paintings of nature and travel to share with others.
